Consulting Services Cardiologist

The Department of Health Care Access and Information’s Healthcare Analytics Branch is seeking a consulting cardiologist to support the California Cardiovascular Outcomes Reporting Program, which is mandated by state law to annually publish risk-adjusted outcomes reports for hospitals performing coronary artery bypass graft surgery. The program relies on clinical data submitted by approximately 124 licensed California hospitals through the online Cardiac Online Reporting for California system, which aligns closely with the Society of Thoracic Surgeons Adult Cardiac Surgery Database in its data structure. The consultant will provide expert guidance on interpreting data elements from both the STS ACSD and CCORP systems, ensuring accurate analysis and proper understanding of patient medical records underlying the outcomes reports.
