Consulting Services - Urban Forestry Strategy & Asset Management Plan

The City of Humboldt is seeking qualified consulting firms to develop a comprehensive Urban Forestry Strategy and Asset Management Plan, funded by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ Growing Canada’s Community Canopies initiative. The project aims to establish a long-term framework for managing, protecting, expanding, and investing in the city’s urban forest as essential municipal infrastructure. The scope includes conducting a baseline inventory with GIS and LiDAR canopy analysis, reviewing current policies and development standards, assessing climate adaptation risks, integrating asset management practices, and engaging with community members and Indigenous groups. The consultant will also define levels of service and operational standards, and deliver a detailed Five-Year Operational Plan and implementation roadmap designed to be practical, actionable, and aligned with goals for canopy expansion, climate resilience, and sustainable urban forest stewardship. Proposals must be submitted by August 5, 2026, in response to solicitation number 2026-07-CLS, which was posted on July 15, 2026.
