The Saskatchewan Health Authority intends to award a seven year contract to BioMerieux Canada Inc. for the provision of equipment, services, and consumables required for Rapid Multiplex Syndromic Panel testing for Sepsis and Meningitis Encephalitis. This initiative aims to standardize critical microbiology testing across multiple diagnostic laboratories in Saskatchewan, including existing sites in Saskatoon, Melfort, Lloydminster, and Swift Current, as well as planned expansions into Yorkton, Regina, Estevan, and North Battleford. The use of the Filmarray Torch System is intended to support rural laboratories with limited technical staffing by providing a small equipment footprint and ensuring quick turnaround times for patient admissions.
