The project would involve the construction of a 250,000-square-foot office building would house a 3,500-square-foot Board of Supervisors chamber. The office building would collectively house up to approximately 1,200 full-time employees, approximately 18 additional employees compared to existing conditions. The office building would be five stories. The project would also include a 7,000- to 13,000-square-foot, single-story Emergency Coordination Center, with up to 5,000 gross square feet dedicated to emergency operations and the remainder serving as conference space during normal operations. During emergencies, the entire building would function to respond to disasters. In addition, the project would include approximately 1,050 parking spaces beneath a one-megawatt solar microgrid with battery storage. The residential component would provide up to 1,500 housing units in buildings up to seven stories tall, along with up to 20,000 square feet of retail/commercial space accommodating approximately 32 employees. Amenities such as common open space and pedestrian connections would integrate the office, residential, and commercial components of the project.
