The contract pertains to the procurement of Coveralls, Toxicological Agents Protective (TAP), identified by NSN 8415-00-099-6962 and specified under MIL-C-2181M, with an estimated solicitation release date around March 31, 2011. The government requires 183 pairs of these protective coveralls, with a production lead time of 120 days, and inspection and acceptance will be conducted with FOB destination deliveries to locations including DDJC Tracy, CA, and DDSP New Cumberland, PA. Two sample coveralls will be required as part of the solicitation process. The solicitation and detailed instructions for vendor registration, including information on how to access the Defense Logistics Agency’s Internet Bulletin Board System (DIBBS), will be posted online for interested contractors. Registration involves ensuring the company is listed in the Central Contractor Registration system and obtaining a Commercial and Government Entity (CAGE) Code, with the option to designate a super user to manage accounts and user access. The contract also highlights compliance requirements related to defense acquisition regulations, particularly "The Berry Amendment," which restricts the acquisition of foreign-made clothing and textile items for the Department of Defense, mandating that materials be produced or processed in the United States or its territories unless a specific exemption applies. Additional resources such as technical data, specifications, and patterns related to clothing and textiles solicitations are available through DLA Troop Support’s web-based system for manufacturers. The point of contact for this solicitation is Michael Curry, reachable via email and phone, and the solicitation details are accessible on the SAM.gov platform.
