The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is procuring Covert Tracker services on a sole source basis under FAR 13.501 from 3SI Security Systems, Inc., located in Malvern, Pennsylvania, due to the vendor’s exclusive capability to integrate its CovertTrack system with the DEA’s Centralized Tracking System (CTS). This acquisition is not open to competition, as the DEA has determined that only 3SI provides the required technology that meets operational and interoperability needs, with no other supplier offering a compatible solution. The contract is structured as a firm-fixed price purchase order, and while the exact dollar value and line items are not specified, it is expected to sustain monthly airtime services for covert tracking devices with unlimited updates, subscription to UNITRAC mapping functionality, and ongoing technical integration with DEA systems.
