This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This Request for Quote incorporates provisions and clauses in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-72. This solicitation is for 100% small business set-aside. The NAICS is 336611, with a size standard of 1000. A. REQUIREMENT: CRANKSHAFT LINE BORE INSPECTION OF CGC NORTHLAND'S NO.1 SHIP SERVICE GENERATOR ENGINE B. REQUIRED PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: 16 DEC 2014 C. DESCRIPTION OF WORK: Vendor shall complete a crankshaft line bore inspection of CGC Northland's NO.1 ship service generator engine (Caterpillar D-398) to determine if the main bearing bores are in alignment with Caterpillar (OEM) tolerances. Vendor shall provide report of findings and recommendations if outside tolerance limit. Vendor shall have all special tools and equipment available to machine true the existing bearing caps if possible or to bore new, uncut replacement caps to OEM specifications.
