The Defense Logistics Agency, Enterprise Support Office plans to award a sole source fixed price purchase order to the Associated Press for software support related to the AP Preserver software. This procurement is conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), specifically FAR Part 6.302-1, which permits non-competitive sourcing due to the unique ownership and operation of the software by the Associated Press. Since no other vendor can provide support for this software, the agency has decided not to issue a solicitation or request for quotes publicly. However, firms believing they can fulfill the requirement may submit written responses within four calendar days of this announcement for consideration, though the government retains full discretion on whether to compete the purchase order based on those responses. The procurement falls under NAICS code 511120, related to software publishers, highlighting the technical nature of the contract. All inquiries or submissions concerning this contract should be directed to Temple Ferrell via email or phone. Given the sole source nature and the unique support requirement of the AP Preserver software, this action ensures continuous and specialized maintenance services are secured to support the agency’s needs without competitive bidding, streamlining the acquisition process.
