Full Description

This is a Design-Build project consisting of repairs to twenty-three (23) significantly deteriorated steel piles. As part of an ongoing surveillance and maintenance program, piles have been identified in recent inspections which are in need of repair. Existing 14 inch diameter steel piles are corroded in the splash zone. Piles with major steel section loss require repair to maintain and restore structural integrity. The project objective is to install partial length pile encasements on selected piles on the north side of the pier from pile bents 10 through 56, and pile rows A through D. Piles to be repaired are as shown in the drawing and schedule included in Part 6, Attachment A - Pier 2 Pile Repairs for NOAA- Scope of Work, 06-21-13. Piles are identified as Group 1 (17 piles), and Group 2 (6 piles). Contractor proposals shall include repairs to Group 1 piles as the "Base Bid", and repairs to Group 2 piles as "Option 1".
