The Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC) at Fort Jackson, South Carolina, plans to award a firm fixed price, sole source contract to Motorola Solutions, Inc. for maintenance and service of the Army’s Land Mobile Radio network at the US Army Signal Network Enterprise Center (NEC). Motorola was selected as the Army Standard System, and this contract is intended as a follow-on for the ASTRO 25 SmartZone trunking System Infrastructure, which includes major components such as the Central Electronics Bank, remote sites, and CentraCom Gold Dispatch sites. The contractor will be responsible for all necessary troubleshooting, repair, preventive maintenance, operational checks, and adjustments, providing fully qualified personnel, materials, tools, and test equipment to support these services. This procurement is conducted under the authorization for Other Than Full and Open Competition due to the proprietary nature of Motorola’s technology and its existing connectivity and network agreements through Fort Gordon, which is essential for maintaining the Fort Jackson site. The Fort Gordon Master Site operates as a subsystem and provides required network monitoring and dispatch operations included in this contract. Payments will be processed via the Wide Area Workflow (WAWF) system. The NAICS code for this contract is 811213, with a size standard of $5 million. While this is a sole source acquisition, the government is open to receiving inputs from other interested responsible sources before finalizing the decision, with a submission deadline given for responses. The overall intent is to maintain continuity and reliability of the Army’s communication network infrastructure at Fort Jackson.
