NOTICE OF INTENT – Magnet Forensics, LLC

This is a NOTICE OF INTENT to award a sole source contract using Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12.102 Restricting Competition under Statutory Authority 41 U.S.C. 1901.

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), Office of Headquarters Procurement Services, on behalf of the Office of the Inspector General (OIG), intends to issue a sole source award to Magnet Forensics, LLC., 300 Colonial Center Pkwy, Roswell, GA 30076, for various proprietary Magnet and GreyKey investigative software products and services in support of the Office of Investigations (OI) Cyber Investigations and Forensic Analysis (CIFA) unit. The award is anticipated for three years consisting of one base year and potentially two option years. Magnet Forensics suite of investigative tools will allow processing of digital data collected, seized, or received in support of OI. The potential period of performance for this contract is 06/01/2026 to 05/31/2029.

In accordance with Competition in Contracting Act, 41 USC 3304, as implemented by FAR 6.103-1, Other than full and open competition, is authorized when there is only one responsible source and no other supplies and services will satisfy agency requirements. This award will be made under Simplified Acquisition procedures (FAR Part 12.201-1) under the authority 41.U.S.C. 1901 Simplified acquisition procedures.

This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals. No solicitation is available for this requirement. Interested parties may submit a capability statement and pricing information, which shall be considered by the requesting agency, within 15 calendar days of publication of this notice.

Responses must be in writing and delivered by e-mail to the Contract Specialist at ellen.baptist@hq.doe.gov. The e-mail shall contain the following subject line: Response to Notice of Intent – 89303026NIG000060. All information submitted should support the vendor’s capability to provide the items required and shall be furnished at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to cancel the sole source award. The primary North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 513210 – Software Publishers.

A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
