The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), through its Technology Acquisition Center in New Jersey, has announced its intent to award a Firm Fixed Price Sole Source Purchase Order to Censis Technologies. This contract is for the software upgrade and implementation of the Censitrac OR Scheduler system at 11 VA locations within VISN 10. The sole source procurement is justified due to the proprietary nature of Censis Technologies’ software; only the original developer owns the necessary intellectual property and program language to support, upgrade, and ensure interoperability with the VA’s existing instrument management system infrastructure. The contract falls under NAICS code 513210 with a $47 million size standard and is not open for competitive bidding, though interested parties may submit responses by August 8, 2025, for consideration solely at the government’s discretion. No solicitation package will be issued, and the government’s intention not to compete is based on the requirement for continued operational compatibility and support for the current Censis system. This measure ensures the VA’s OR scheduling at multiple facilities remains fully functional and integrated, maintaining the integrity of ongoing healthcare operations. For further information, Elena Juliano is listed as the primary contract specialist.
