The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) intends to award a sole source requirement to Thermo Electron North America LLC for the purchase of a DART Q Exactive High Resolution Orbitrap MS System. Thermo Electron North America is the only responsible source to provide the necessary DART Q equipment. The acquisition will be conducted through the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 13 "Simplified Acquisition Procedures". The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing. The business size standard is 500 employees. The Special Notice is published for informational purposes only and is not a request for offers. Per FAR 5.207(c)(16)(ii) vendors that are capable of meeting the Government's requirements detailed above may submit a capability statement which shall be considered by the agency. In accordance with FAR 6.305, 14 days after award DEA will make publicly available the Justification for Other than Full and Open Competition.
