Technical areas of interest include digital engineering and modeling, software infrastructure such as DevSecOps pipelines, and hardware design and testing. Past and current Spirals have addressed programs such as the ERAM program, Lugged Affordable Cruise Missile, Counter-Air Missile Program, and the Family of Affordable Mass Missiles Beyond Adversary Reach. Proposals are evaluated based on technical merit, importance to agency programs, and funds availability, with price assessed to ensure it is fair and reasonable. Award eligibility requires registration in the System for Award Management and the Wide Area Workflow system for milestone-based invoicing. The government maintains strict security requirements, including the protection of Controlled Unclassified Information and prohibitions on specific foreign software and hardware.
