Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) Sensor Support

The United States Space Force, through the Space Systems Command and Mission Delta 4, has issued a Sources Sought notice under solicitation number PCOL-DSMP-27-0001 to identify qualified contractors for the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP) sensor support. This market research effort seeks capabilities to support the ongoing mission and eventual decommissioning of the DMSP sensor suite, which is currently projected to continue through its functional end of life in September 2028. The scope of work includes data management for raw sensor data, technical operations such as instrument calibration and validation for sensors like the Operational Linescan System and Special Sensor Microwave Imager and Sounders, sustainment logistics for aging hardware, and integration and transition support to next-generation systems. The government is specifically looking for firms with experience in passive microwave radiometers, visible and infrared imagers, and space weather sensors. Because the work involves classified environments, anticipated requirements include Secret facility and personnel clearances. Interested parties must submit a capability statement of no more than 15 pages by October 14, 2026, detailing their corporate experience, technical capabilities, and approach to cross-contractor integration via Associate Contractor Agreements.
