Design-Build Services for Bainbridge High School Athletic Facilities

The Decatur County Board of Education is soliciting design-build services for the improvement of athletic facilities at Bainbridge High School in Georgia. The comprehensive scope of work includes the construction of a new multipurpose facility featuring a 6,500 plus square foot weight training area and a synthetic turf field, the development of a tennis complex with 16 total courts and supporting amenities, the resurfacing of the existing track to resolve drainage issues, and the renovation and expansion of the fieldhouse to accommodate 120 players. The selected provider must be a Georgia-licensed general contractor and employ Georgia-licensed architects and professional engineers. A critical requirement of the project is the coordination and management of all design and construction documents through the Georgia Department of Education review and approval processes. The contract will utilize a phased delivery approach, starting with a firm lump-sum fee for Phase 1 design and preconstruction, followed by the establishment of a Guaranteed Maximum Price for the construction phase. For evaluation purposes, the board requires a hypothetical pricing example based on a 20 million dollar cost of work. Award will be granted to the most advantageous proposal with the highest overall score, with prime consideration given to firms possessing extensive design-build experience within K-12 school systems.
