Bid #8940-002: The University of California Santa Cruz is seeking professional design and engineering services for the Hagar Drive Roundabout and Safety Improvement Project. The project consists of adding three compact roundabouts at the intersections with East Remote Parking Lot, Village Road, and the new Family Student Housing (FSH) access. The scope includes the addition of protected bike lanes, and associated bus stop, sidewalk, and crosswalk adjustments. The project's goals are to improve safety for all road users, enhance the level of service at intersections, reduce vehicle speeds, and demonstrate a cost-effective and quick-to-implement solution with minimal disturbance. Deliverables will progress through 35%, 65%, 95%, and 100% PS&E design phases in compliance with University, Caltrans, and AASHTO requirements.
