Yucca Trail Widening Project – Palomar Avenue To La Contenta Road
Solicitation # 7074
The Town of Yucca Valley is soliciting professional civil engineering design services for the Yucca Trail Widening Project, located between Palomar/Avalon Avenue and La Contenta Road in Yucca Valley, California. The selected contractor will be responsible for creating a comprehensive Plans, Specifications, and Engineer's Estimates package, which includes street improvement, signing, striping, and streetlight plans, as well as final cost estimates and record drawings. The scope requires the consultant to evaluate the project for safety, constructability, utility conflicts, right-of-way constraints, and ADA compliance, utilizing the latest version of AutoCAD and adhering to the Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction and Town driveway standards. The agreement is for an initial term of two years, with a possible two-year extension upon mutual consent. Proposals must be submitted in two separate sealed envelopes by December 3, 2026, with the technical proposal limited to ten pages. Evaluation criteria include the service approach, company qualifications, past performance, proximity of the contractor's office, and the ability to commence work immediately. Compensation will be negotiated after the contractor is selected, and the Town aims to process undisputed monthly invoices within forty-five days. While the contractor must provide worker's compensation and indemnity insurance, it is noted that California prevailing wage laws do not apply to this specific agreement.

Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory, a US Department of Energy Prime Contractor, is seeking a qualified assessment team to conduct a detailed study of its Computer Center cooling system in Plainsboro, New Jersey. The facility, established around 1977, currently utilizes Computer Room Air Conditioner units with a nominal 80 ton capacity to provide air cooling via an underfloor plenum. Due to the integration of high-density servers, the laboratory requires a technical evaluation to assess the efficiency and condition of existing infrastructure. The scope of work includes on-site inspections, thermal and electrical load assessments, and the creation of CAD-based floor layouts and single-line diagrams for electrical and mechanical systems. Additionally, the selected party must perform a Computational Fluid Dynamics study with computer modeling and provide a comprehensive report detailing the pros and cons of current conditions. The final deliverable must include projected computational requirements and conceptual recommendations for improvements, accompanied by estimated costs. Interested parties were required to submit Standard Form 330 qualifications by February 26, 2009.

Princeton University Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) a US Department of Energy Prime Contractor has a requirement for a detailed Study of its Computer Center's cooling system by an Assessment Team of individuals with extensive experience in computer data center evaluation and design. Interested qualified parties requested to submit Standard Form 330 Architect-Engineer Qualifications to the PPPL RFP 09-037F Coordinator L. Sutton at contact@example.gov by 2:00 P.M. Thursday 26 February 2009 for review and technical evaluation. The Computer Center (PPLCC) was established circa 1977 to support the computing requirements for both experimental and business aspects of PPPL. In recent years a significant quantity of high-density servers has replaced older technology servers. Existing computers are air-cooled via Computer Room Air Conditioner (CRAC) units forcing supply air through an under floor air plenum providing the computer racks bottom to top air cooling. These existing units have a rated nominal 80 ton total cooling capacity along with humidification and electric reheat capability. The Study shall include on-site inspection and measurements that include but are not limited to: Computer Room Floor Layout showing electrical and mechanical equipment in a AutoCAD or a CAD program that can be translated into AutoCAD format; an electrical single-line diagram (power protection and distribution infrastructure sizing and locations); a mechanical single-line diagram (computer room cooling room infrastructure sizing and locations); on-site thermal and electrical load assessments; Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) study with computer modeling; an assessment of existing PPLCC conditions listing both pro and cons; assessment of projected computational requirements and existing CRAC units for both condition and efficiency. Study also to include a number of conceptual "what if" recommendations with estimated dollar values.
