This acquisition is for 63 radiation detectors under NSN 6625-01-252-4234, with price breaks established for quantities ranging from 1 to 100. Due to the lack of complete, unrestrictive data, the government intends to contract only with approved sources under 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), specifically identifying Science Applications International as an approved source. The solicitation is not being conducted under commercial item policies, although interested parties may notify the contracting officer of their capability to provide a commercial alternative. The award decision will be based on a combination of price, delivery, and past performance, with the government reserving the right to utilize a reverse auction process. Because the solicitation contains militarily critical technical data, access is restricted to businesses certified by the Department of Defense United States/Canada Joint Certification Office and requires a valid DD Form 2345. The small business size standard for this requirement is 750 employees.
