DHS Uniform Acquisition Innovation Roundtable

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Procurement Officer will host an Acquisition Innovation Roundtable (AIR) with known uniform manufacturers, distributers, and fabric mills as part of its market research effort to better understand U.S.-based uniform manufacturing capabilities. AIRs are a part of the Acquisition Innovations in Motion (AIiM) framework designed to enhance the manner in which DHS does business through improved communications and business processes. Typically, AIRs consist of subject matter experts (SMEs), from industry and DHS, exchanging information and ideas. This AIR on domestic uniform manufacturing will occur on June 27, 2018 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, via a webinar. This AIR meeting is one of several engagements designed to expand DHS's understanding of the capabilities, capacity, and interest of domestic uniform manufacturers to support the domestic sourcing of a larger portion of DHS uniform requirements, without compromising operational readiness. The webinar will consist of approximately 30 minutes of opening remarks by the DHS followed by an open discussion of questions that will be provided to participants who register for the AIR. In addition to the questions, registrants will be provided sample uniform specifications, photos, and volume data for representative items from the current uniform contract. DHS wants input on these during the session. Given the nature of the discussion questions, it is recommended that vendor participants in the webinar have domestic production and sourcing knowledge.
