Domestic Well for the Sertich Cabin (CEQ 26-021)

Tulare County is overseeing a project for the installation of a replacement domestic well at the Sertich Cabin located in the mountain community of Hartland. The property is situated within an A-1 Agricultural Zone and falls outside of an Urban Development Boundary. Because the proposed well site cannot meet the minimum setback requirements from existing leach lines, the property owner is seeking an administrative variance to proceed with construction. To mitigate potential contamination risks associated with the setback violation, the contractor will install a 100-foot annular seal. This project is managed by the Tulare County planning department, with Gary Mills serving as the Chief Environmental Planner and Jacob Sertich as the applicant. The primary objective is to ensure a reliable water supply for domestic use consistent with the property's current zoning.
