The contract with Stewart Brothers Drilling Company, Inc. involves the provision of drilling, sampling, and testing services on exploratory water wells. This notice indicates the government's intent to exercise the first of four option periods under the terms of the original contract, extending the performance period through August 18, 2017, at the current contract rates. The contract, designated as a total small business set-aside under NAICS code 237990, is managed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs within the Department of the Interior, with the primary place of performance in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This action is based on FAR clause 52.217-9, which allows the term of the contract to be extended without issuing a new Request for Proposals, signifying that the government is continuing with the incumbent contractor without competitive bidding for this option period. The modification resulting from exercising this option will maintain continuity in the project's execution as initially planned and aligns with the administrative and operational requirements established in the original contract. The point of contact for further information is Jeff Sena, reachable via email or phone.
