AI Contract Overview

The contract involves replacing and installing six hazmat locker systems at the US Coast Guard Sector San Diego, located at 2710 North Harbor Drive. The existing systems are outdated, unsupported, and exhibit multiple deficiencies, including non-functional bells, hoses requiring hydrostatic testing, and pressure switch issues. The project entails removing the current systems and installing new Pyrochem MONARCH dry chemical components, such as mechanical release devices, cylinders, explosion-proof pressure switches, supply lines, nozzles, and remote pull stations, with all necessary bracketing and supports in accordance with the Monarch Manual. The installation must be performed during normal business hours, with electrical connections handled by others, including safe-off and reconnection, and existing penetrations sealed by others. The scope also includes developing a comprehensive suppression plan with a NICET III stamp covering all six systems, with additional individual plans incurring extra charges. Key qualifications specify that electrical devices like contactors, relays, and fire alarm tie-ins are to be managed by other contractors, with wiring from micro switches to these devices also performed by others. The contract emphasizes adherence to safety standards, proper sealing of penetrations, and compliance with suppression system manuals. The project also requires addressing deficiencies such as seized pull stations, non-operational bells, and hoses needing hydrostatic testing, with the replacement product line being current and supported. The contract is posted by the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Base Los Angeles/Long Beach, with responses due by September 16, 2025. The site visit is scheduled for September 12th, and interested parties can contact Kyle Kagami for visitor passes.
