After completing additional investigation work as part of a previous contract, the loading rating of the bridge was further reduced to 12 tonnes. Various stakeholders utilize the bridge during tourism season and the reduction in load rating will impact their operations. The purpose of this contract is to retain a design consultant to prepare a tender package for the replacement of the existing structure. The intent is to replace the existing superstructure with a prefabricated panel bridge before the upcoming winter season. This will require the tender package to be completed by early September. This is a request for proposals (RFP) against Supply Arrangement (SA) EB129-192368 for Heavy Civil Engineering Services. The invited firms qualified under the Bridge Engineering discipline for the province of Newfoundland are: 1. Hilcon Ltd., 2. CIMA+, 3. COWI North America Ltd.. 4. R.V. Anderson Associates Ltd., 5. Stantec Consulting, 6. CBCL Ltd.
