Earl Warren Elementary School Modernization Project

The proposed project includes modernization of the existing Earl Warren Elementary School (see Figure 1). All construction activities will occur within the existing disturbed areas of the campus. The proposed project would include the following: - Removal of 14 existing modular structures; - Construction of a new14,124-square-foot building for TK and Kindergarten classrooms and a new administration office wing; - Interior classroom modernization improvements; - Construction of new pick-up and drop-offs areas along 73rd Street; - Construction of new staff parking lot at the northeast corner of the campus; - Existing parking lot and pick-up/drop-off area along Lowell Street would be reconfigured for bus drop-off and fire access, and the parking lot would remain in place but would be re-striped; - New landscaping and concrete installed throughout the school site; and - Replacement of the play area with a newly designed play area and separate TK and Kindergarten play area. The proposed project would serve the existing student enrollment and would not result in an increase in student or program capacity, nor would the project result in an increase of employees at the project site. In addition, all construction activities would take place on campus.
