AI Contract Overview
The contract involves the comprehensive replacement of epoxy floors in four shower houses at East Fork State Park, located at 2837 Old State Route 32, Batavia, Ohio. The project encompasses grinding down the existing epoxy coatings in eight restrooms (four men's and four women's), totaling approximately 2,240 square feet, and installing new decorative quartz flooring. The scope includes sealing drains with bladders to prevent epoxy clogging, applying a moisture mitigation primer, broadcasting decorative quartz aggregate, and layering with pigmented epoxy, UV-stable epoxy grout, and a chemical-resistant urethane topcoat. Additionally, the existing wall-mounted toilets will remain, while partitions are to be removed by staff prior to work commencement. The work must be completed between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM, with a start date as soon as possible after contractor selection, and is expected to be finalized by June 30, 2025. The procurement process emphasizes competitive bidding, with the contract awarded to the lowest responsible bidder based on the total cost calculated from unit prices and estimated quantities. Bidders are required to participate in a site visit before submitting their proposals and must adhere to various state procurement policies, including preferences for veteran-friendly, Ohio-produced, and American-made products. The contract is governed by Ohio laws, with provisions for compliance with nondiscrimination, bonding, insurance, and other legal requirements. The project is managed by DeWayne Terwilleger, the Park Maintenance Manager, and the solicitation is posted on Ohio’s OhioBuys platform, with a response deadline of May 6, 2025.
