The Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) is undertaking the Easterly Chemically Enhanced High-Rate Treatment Facility REBID project, aimed at enhancing wastewater treatment capabilities at its Easterly Wastewater Treatment Plant in Cleveland, Ohio. This solicitation, issued by the Engineering and Construction office, reflects the district’s commitment to advanced wastewater management to protect public health and the environment across a 380 square mile service area encompassing 62 communities. The project aligns with NEORSD’s broader objectives, including significant pollution reduction targets under the Project Clean Lake initiative and regional stormwater management efforts. Extensive preparatory work supports this facility upgrade, including environmental assessments, geotechnical investigations, and adherence to rigorous process control system standards. A Limited Environmental Screening Assessment conducted by HZW Environmental Consultants reviewed historical and environmental data to identify potential site concerns, informing project design and compliance. Meanwhile, a comprehensive geotechnical report by Somat Engineering provides vital subsurface data based on extensive field and laboratory testing, essential for safe and effective construction. Additionally, detailed NEORSD manuals outline process control systems standards and object library configurations, ensuring that control systems integration and maintenance comply with district-wide policies. The project emphasizes innovation, environmental stewardship, and operational excellence, backed by a diverse and inclusive organizational culture and managed by designated project and procurement contacts.
