NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: The 3rd Contracting Squadron, Elmendorf AFB, Alaska intends to award a sole source purchase order to Synthes USA, of Paoli, PA, as a result of the Synthes company being the only manufacture of Synthes elastic nail systems. The contractor shall provide the following items: 1 ea TI Elastic Nail Implant Set 6 ea 2.0MM TI Elastic Nail 440MM 6 ea 2.5MM TI Elastic Nail 440MM 6 ea 3.0MM TI Elastic Nail 440MM 6 ea 3.5MM TI Elastic Nail 440MM 6 ea 4.0MM TI Elastic Nail 440MM 6 ea 1.5 MM TI Elastic Nail 440MM 10 ea Titanium End cap for Titanium Elastic nail 03.0-4.0MM This purchase will be made under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized by FAR 13.501. The anticipated award date is 30 Oct 2009. Please note that this is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to provide the product listed above. Deadline date for the submittals is 26 Oct 2009 at 5 pm Alaska Standard Time. A determination by the government not to compete this requirement based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
