The contract establishes a service agreement for comprehensive electrical maintenance, repair, and supplementary installations across eighteen permanent structures at the Provincial Forest Nursery in New Brunswick, on behalf of the Department of Natural Resources. The term runs from contract award through May 31, 2027, with an option to extend for two additional one-year periods subject to mutual written agreement. Pricing is based on a negotiated hourly labor rate for one technician during regular hours, defined as 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime paid at one and one-half times the regular rate for all hours outside that window, including weekends and holidays. A second technician may be deployed only with demonstrated need, doubling the labor rate. Materials provided by the contractor are limited to cost plus a fifteen percent markup. Emergency service must be available 24/7 with a preferred one-hour response time and an absolute maximum of three hours. The work covers single and three-phase systems at 600, 208, and 120 volts, 24V control systems, and seven emergency power generators with transfer gear, excluding overhead lines and transformers which are handled by separate contractors. Electric motor repairs are outsourced to specialized facilities in Fredericton. The contract will be awarded based on the lowest regular hourly rate submitted, with bidders required to quote unit prices excluding taxes and calculate extended prices accordingly. Bids must be signed and dated, and all questions must be submitted no later than five days before the closing date of June 15, 2026. An optional site visit is scheduled for June 10, 2026, at the Kingsclear Forest Nursery. Pricing for option years will be adjusted based on negotiations, capped at the original tendered price plus any increase in the New Brunswick Consumer Price Index; if no agreement is reached, the government reserves the right to re-tender or remove items. The solicitation is issued by the Central Tendering Branch under the Government of Canada, with the NAICS code 238210, and all submissions must be directed through the official tendering portal with reference to solicitation number 5307035-27.
