The Air Force Sustainment Center at Robins Air Force Base plans to award a firm-fixed price contract valued over a seven-month period for engineering services that support the sustainment of the AN/ALR-56C weapons system. These services specifically involve updating the operational flight software of the ALR-56C redesign to align with the avionics software currently in use on F-15C/E aircraft. The contract will be awarded to British Aerospace Enterprises, a division of BAE Systems Information & Electronic Systems Integration Inc., under a sole-source procurement authority due to the Government’s lack of rights to the necessary procurement data that would enable competition. This initiative stems from the need to maintain and update critical avionics software to ensure the AN/ALR-56C system’s continued operational capability. The procurement falls under NAICS code 541330 and is governed by the stipulations of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) and FAR 6.302-1, allowing negotiation with a single source. The designated contracting officer for this action is Janice M. Williams, who can be contacted for further information. This contract reflects a targeted effort to leverage specialized expertise from a proprietary source to sustain a vital component of Air Force avionics infrastructure.

Fire Alarm engineering for Lewis County
Solicitation # 2026-RFQ-040
Lewis County is soliciting qualifications under solicitation 2026-RFQ-040 for a professional engineering firm to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for fire alarm systems. The project encompasses several County-owned facilities, including the IT Building, Historic Courthouse, Health Building, and Lewis County Jail. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations to determine the remaining useful life of existing systems, assessing code compliance with NFPA 72, IBC, and IFC standards, and developing bid-ready construction drawings and technical specifications. All designs must be stamped by a licensed electrical engineer familiar with Washington State fire alarm requirements and must integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure to ensure standardized maintenance and operations. Proposals are due by November 10, 2026, via the OpenGov platform and will be evaluated by a committee of at least three County employees using a points-based system. The evaluation criteria are equally weighted at 20 percent each across four categories: firm qualifications (including NICET certifications and licensed engineer availability), responsiveness and capacity to begin work within 30 days, regulatory compliance and permitting records, and the clarity and detail of blueprint designs. Applicants must provide a statement of qualifications, three public agency references from the last five years, and resumes of key personnel. The contract is administered by Matt Patana, Capital Infrastructure Specialist, based in Chehalis, Washington.
