The Department of the Air Force, specifically the Force Protection Division at Hanscom AFB, is pursuing a noncompetitive bridge contract for Engineering and Integration services to support the continued evolution of the Medusa Counter-small Unmanned Aircraft System (C-sUAS). Under solicitation FA238126CB001, the government is justifying a sole-source award to Leidos, Inc. to provide essential engineering expertise, system integration, and software development. The performance of this contract is designated to take place in Reston, Virginia, under NAICS code 541330. This procurement is justified under 10 U.S.C. 3204(a)(1) due to the critical nature of the mission. The government has determined that awarding the contract to any entity other than Leidos, Inc. would lead to unacceptable delays in mission-critical development and cybersecurity activities, as well as a substantial duplication of costs. The bridge contract ensures the uninterrupted progression of the Medusa C-sUAS capabilities while maintaining technical continuity.

Fire Alarm engineering for Lewis County
Solicitation # 2026-RFQ-040
Lewis County is soliciting qualifications under solicitation 2026-RFQ-040 for a professional engineering firm to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for fire alarm systems. The project encompasses several County-owned facilities, including the IT Building, Historic Courthouse, Health Building, and Lewis County Jail. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations to determine the remaining useful life of existing systems, assessing code compliance with NFPA 72, IBC, and IFC standards, and developing bid-ready construction drawings and technical specifications. All designs must be stamped by a licensed electrical engineer familiar with Washington State fire alarm requirements and must integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure to ensure standardized maintenance and operations. Proposals are due by November 10, 2026, via the OpenGov platform and will be evaluated by a committee of at least three County employees using a points-based system. The evaluation criteria are equally weighted at 20 percent each across four categories: firm qualifications (including NICET certifications and licensed engineer availability), responsiveness and capacity to begin work within 30 days, regulatory compliance and permitting records, and the clarity and detail of blueprint designs. Applicants must provide a statement of qualifications, three public agency references from the last five years, and resumes of key personnel. The contract is administered by Matt Patana, Capital Infrastructure Specialist, based in Chehalis, Washington.
