Fire Alarm engineering for Lewis County
Solicitation # 2026-RFQ-040
Lewis County is soliciting qualifications under solicitation 2026-RFQ-040 for a professional engineering firm to provide comprehensive design and engineering services for fire alarm systems. The project encompasses several County-owned facilities, including the IT Building, Historic Courthouse, Health Building, and Lewis County Jail. The selected firm will be responsible for conducting on-site evaluations to determine the remaining useful life of existing systems, assessing code compliance with NFPA 72, IBC, and IFC standards, and developing bid-ready construction drawings and technical specifications. All designs must be stamped by a licensed electrical engineer familiar with Washington State fire alarm requirements and must integrate smoothly with existing infrastructure to ensure standardized maintenance and operations. Proposals are due by November 10, 2026, via the OpenGov platform and will be evaluated by a committee of at least three County employees using a points-based system. The evaluation criteria are equally weighted at 20 percent each across four categories: firm qualifications (including NICET certifications and licensed engineer availability), responsiveness and capacity to begin work within 30 days, regulatory compliance and permitting records, and the clarity and detail of blueprint designs. Applicants must provide a statement of qualifications, three public agency references from the last five years, and resumes of key personnel. The contract is administered by Matt Patana, Capital Infrastructure Specialist, based in Chehalis, Washington.

The Naval Surface Warfare Center, Philadelphia Division (NSWCPD) intends to acquire systems engineering support for the integration of advanced electrical power and propulsion systems during the construction and lifecycle phases of US Navy ships. The resultant contract will assist NSWCPD with executing the Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) strategic direction of designing and implementing Integrated Power Systems (IPS) architecture, at various stages of development, across multiple ship classes. IPS architecture combines the traditionally separate Electrical Power System with the Propulsion System. The new architecture will increase operational performance, reliability, as well as reduce the manning requirements of vessels. This requirement will be competed under FAR Part 6.1, Full and Open Competition. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541330; size standard $15 million. A Cost-Plus-Fixed-Fee (CPFF), Indefinite-Delivery, Indefinite-Quantity (IDIQ), Single Award contract is anticipated to result from the solicitation. Interested Parties should refer to solicitation number N64498-17-R-4011. It is the intention of the Navy to issue this RFP through electronic means only. This RFP shall be available upon issuance on or around 1 November 2017 at https://www.fbo.gov. Contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM.gov).
