The Enterprise Sourcing Group (ESG) at Wright Patterson Air Force Base is responsible for strategic sourcing and acquisition across 71 Air Force installations within the Continental United States. To support this mission, ESG is hosting a two-day "Dialogue with Industry" event on October 25-26, 2011, at The Hope Hotel and Conference Center in Dayton, Ohio. The event aims to inform both current and potential suppliers about the evolving role of strategic sourcing in the Air Force and Department of Defense, highlighting ongoing and upcoming sourcing opportunities. Attendees will gain insights into ESG’s operations, learn about strategic sourcing initiatives in areas such as civil engineering, IT, medical services, furnishings, office supplies, fitness equipment, shipping, and advisory services, and explore how small businesses fit within this framework. The event includes briefings, meetings with commodity sourcing managers, and opportunities to provide input on installation sourcing strategies and cost-saving measures. Additionally, ESG oversees operational contracting support for various Air Force entities, including engineering, medical, and technical support agencies. The event is co-sponsored by the Dayton Area Defense Contractors Association and encourages relationship building among industry contractors and Air Force personnel responsible for sourcing strategies. While the gathering is designed for information exchange and industry engagement, it is not linked to any specific solicitation or commitment by the government. Interested parties can register or seek further details through the event’s website or by contacting designated Air Force representatives and the DaytonDefense Executive Director.
