Black U.S. Courthouse, 1729 5th Avenue North, Birmingham, Alabama. The primary requirements are as follows: Modify the current ESSS and adjacent UDDC public display space to reconfigure and expand the ESSS; Demolish, remove, and dispose of all waste materials; Complete any necessary hazardous material abatement; All flooring, doors, furniture and hardware are to be protected; Finish all surfaces to match current, including sanding, priming, painting/staining, molding, finishings, as necessary; Comply with the Architectural Barriers Act Accessibility Standard (ABAAS); Install necessary infrastructure to support anticipated security equipment; Install automatic egress gating; Tie all controls into ongoing Physical Access Control System (PACS); All tools/waste are the contractor's responsibility, and the courthouse must be accessible and presentable during working hours (building dumpsters shall not be used for disposal) All bidders may request a site visit and will be accommodated. An Initial Construction Documents will set the framework and general scope of work for this project.
