Myra-Bellevue Park was established to provide increased representation of the North Okanagan Basin and North Okanagan Highlands ecosections by capturing the full elevational range from the outskirts of Kelowna eastward to the crest of the mountains. Myra Bellevue Park includes features such as the dramatic escarpment of Little White Mountain, the scenic Myra Canyon, a number or existing trails and the historic Kettle Valley Railway, with its trestles and tunnels, have provincial recreational appeal and provide long term recreational opportunities for the increasing Okanagan Valley population.The Stewart Road East Parking Area are critical infrastructure within the Park, supporting recreational opportunities with visitation upwards of 300,000 people during the summer season. Currently the Stewart Road East Trailhead services the general public, seasonal biking opportunities, hiking, horse back riding, various tourism operators, as well as all emergency response needs within the Park. The scope of work is to expand the parking area, improve the trail access and amenities. The anticipated work schedule is three months beginning Feb 2026 and concluding construction prior to April 2026. Tenders marked:“Tender for Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park – Stewart Road East Day Use Area Upgrades” WILL BE RECEIVED UNTIL 2:00 PM local time, February 17th, 2026, electronically to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy, BC Parks Kootenay/Okanagan Region.This tender includes upgrades to the parking lot and site amenities at the Stewart Road East Day Use Area in Myra-Bellevue Provincial Park. In general, the work consists of the following:Parking Lot Upgradeso 1200 m3 common excavation and on-site reuseo 900 m3 common excavation and disposalo 8050 m2 75mm Sub-base – 300mm thicknesso 7420 m2 25mm Base Corse – 100mm thicknesso 6340 m2 Hot Mix asphalt – 50mm thickness (Provisional)Site Amenity Upgradeso Install three (3) Owner supplied picnic tableso Supply and install two (2) pit toilet buildingso 320 lineal metres post and rail fenceo Wheel stops, traffic signage, line and symbol paintingA mandatory site meeting will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, February 3rd , 2026 on-site at Stewart Road East Day Use Area. Attendance of this meeting for its entirety is Mandatory for all bidders. Tender documents will be distributed at the site meeting.
