The Department of the Interior, through the BIA Pacific Contracting Office, has issued solicitation 140A0526Q0003 for environmental remediation services at the former BIA School site in the Native Village of Eek, Alaska. This firm-fixed-price contract is a 100% set-aside for Indian Small Business Economic Enterprises (ISBEEs) under the Buy Indian Act. The performance period is scheduled from September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027. The primary objective is to advance regulatory closure under Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation (ADEC) regulations by performing soil delineation, groundwater monitoring, free-phase petroleum product recovery, and the evaluation of remediation alternatives. Contractors must adhere to strict technical standards, including ADEC 18 AAC 75, EPA low-flow purging and sampling procedures, and DEC well guidance, while maintaining cultural sensitivity and managing challenges related to permafrost conditions.
