Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) plans to award a sole source Firm Fixed Price contract to Brunswick in Edgewater, FL for the procurement of nine 8.5-meter boats based on the Multi-Use Explosive Ordnance Disposal Craft (MERC) design. This acquisition represents the final procurement for the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) group’s specific requirements, aiming to ensure logistical commonality with previously procured boats while preserving uniquely tailored features across two variants: the Cabin Variant and the Open Center Console. The Cabin Variant includes an enclosed cabin within the same hull as a center console, enhanced C4I communications, a 2,000-pound mission gear payload, C-130 transportability, and an AC power generator. The Open Center Console variant offers a higher payload capacity of 3,000 pounds, is also C-130 transportable, and incorporates an integrated davit system. Brunswick is uniquely positioned as the sole provider capable of delivering both variants that meet the EOD group’s logistical requirements for these boats. The contract falls under the North American Industrial Classification System code 336612, covering boat building, with a small business size standard of 500 employees. This announcement serves primarily to alert potential subcontractors of opportunities related to this procurement, and no solicitation or reimbursement for proposal preparation costs will be issued.
