AI Contract Overview
The Air Force is seeking proposals for the purchase of three metal powder sieving vacuum systems designed specifically for use with GE Concept Laser M2 Series 5 printers. The required units include one explosion-proof, ATEX-compliant model for aluminum processing and two standard models, all capable of handling and sieving hazardous and reactive metal powders such as nickel, cobalt chrome, and aluminum alloys. Each standalone system must connect to the printer’s vacuum ports, automatically extract and transfer powder to a buffer hopper, and dispense it onto sieves with controlled feed rates to avoid overload. The systems will feature dual agitation methods, interchangeable sieves for different metals, integrated weighing scales for waste and reclaimed powder, and automated powder feeding mechanisms. Certification requirements include CE or UL approval, and the manufacturer must provide evidence of at least five years of relevant experience along with recent customer references. This acquisition will be conducted as a firm fixed price contract under a total small business set-aside, with an estimated performance period of 60 days after award. The solicitation is open to vendors registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) and falls under NAICS code 332117 with a size standard of 550 employees. Foreign participation is prohibited, and interested parties must submit proposals electronically via the SAM website by the specified deadline. The contracting office is based at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma, with primary contact provided for further inquiries.
