Chinatown Community Development Center is seeking qualified contractors to submit proposals for the Plumbing Upgrade & Repairs Project at the William Penn Hotel, a 91-unit SRO building located at 160 Eddy Street in San Francisco’s Tenderloin district. The project involves upgrading plumbing systems in an occupied building with ongoing resident occupancy, requiring careful coordination to minimize disruptions, including potential temporary relocations. The building primarily consists of single rooms, some with private baths and others with vanity sinks, and has a vacancy rate of approximately 10%. Bidders who are certified as LBEs will benefit from a 10% bid discount, encouraging participation from local small businesses. A non-mandatory but highly recommended pre-bid walk-through will be held on May 9, 2024, at the project site. Proposals must be submitted via email to William Carter by May 20, 2024. The project is part of a city-funded initiative under the City of San Francisco, with the solicitation identified as SFGOV-0000009550, and is managed by the California agency.
