Recent rain events in the months of June and July 2022 has resulted in historically high water levels and severe flooding in the region. Highway embankment at multiple locations along Muncho Lake has been subject to significant erosion. Along this stretch of the highway, shoulder washout is apparent and the road structure is at risk of being compromised. This project aims to repair the damaged sections of the highway and restore the highway embankment back to a safe condition for the travelling public. Work under this contract consists of, but not limited to, the following: Traffic accommodation; Environmental protection; Survey and field verification of existing erosion protection geometry and locations; Removal and salvage or disposal of existing erosion protection; Embankment Excavation; Supply and installation of riprap; Supply and installation of gabion structures;Supply and installation of road and shoulder aggregate;Supply and installation of gravel surfacing;Installation of log booms.
