The Department of Defense, through the Utah DLA Aviation Office at Hill Air Force Base, has issued a combined Request for Information and Synopsis to conduct market research for procuring two aircraft rudders, part number 16T7302-805, with an estimated delivery date of December 30, 2028. This notice seeks to identify potential sources capable of meeting the agency’s requirements, including commercial or non-developmental items that could satisfy the need. While not a solicitation or a commitment to contract, the announcement aims to enhance competition, promote small business access, and gather information regarding available capabilities. Interested parties are invited to submit capability statements or proposals within 15 days and may contact Kody Quayle for further details. The procurement involves strict qualification criteria overseen by the design control activity to ensure part quality, reflecting the need for engineering source approval due to specialized design and technical data associated with the rudder. Only suppliers meeting these qualifications at the time of award will be considered under FAR clause 52.209-1. The solicitation acknowledges that one or more items may be subject to Free Trade Agreements, and it does not anticipate set-aside restrictions for small businesses. This market research is conducted under NAICS code 336413 and references a sources-sought solicitation number, with responses due by mid-June 2026.
