AI Contract Overview

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst intends to award a sole source contract to Daniels Manufacturing Corporation for specialized wiring system repair equipment. The procurement includes two Wiring System Repair Tool Sets, one Pneumatic Crimping Tool, and one Pneumatic Wire Stripper to support the Foreign Military Sales Kuwait F/A-18 E-F Super Hornet Program under Case KU-P-SBG. This action is being pursued under the authority of 10 USC 3204 (a) (1) and FAR 6.302-1. The government has determined that a sole source award is necessary because it does not possess the technical data package or drawings required for competitive bidding. Utilizing an alternative source would result in significant additional costs for design reviews and testing, while potentially providing assets that are incompatible with the USN-approved configuration. While this notice is not a request for proposals, responsible sources may submit responses within fifteen days of publication for the government to consider whether to open the requirement to competition.
