Full Description

This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation that will be offered. Quotations are due by 4:00 PM May 12, 2004.In order to be considered contractors must be registered in Central Contractors Registration (CCR). Registration may be performed online at http://ccr.gov. Quotations must be signed and include taxpayer identification number. Masticating services are to be performed in various areas on the Palomar Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest under the direction of the Contracting Officers Representative (COR). All brush within the project areas will be masticated with the exception of brush occurring within one (1) foot of trees, rocks and logs. All brush treated shall be cut to within six (6) inches of the ground. Masticating machine will not exceed ground pressure of six (6) PSI, be equipped with an approved spark arrestor and have rubber tracks. Work will commence upon award and will conclude by September 30, 2004 (Subject to an extension of time if necessary and proper funding is available). Quotations should be bid on an hourly rate for the machine and operator which includes all time under hire (time under hire does not include breakdowns and repair time), Hours worked will be verified and approved by the COR on invoices submitted by the contractor. Payment will be made for actual time worked under hire not to exceed the total contract amount $148,830.00 Applicable FAR clauses for incorporated by reference 52.249-1(4/84), 52.243-1(8/87), 52.219-1, 52.219-4, 52.212.1(10/00), 52.212.2, 52.212-3, 52.214-4(4-98), 52.212-5(10/98).
