The contractor is responsible for providing all necessary facilities, parts, materials, equipment, and services to inspect the items and restore them to serviceable condition. If repairs escalate beyond minor into major repairs, which include extensive disassembly or replacement of significant subcomponents due to severe damage, government representatives must approve the increased scope. All repairs and testing must adhere closely to specified procedures to ensure the restored items meet original form, fit, function, and interface requirements. SCOPE OF WORK: For the end item, the contractor shall furnish all facilities, parts, materials, equipment and services, required to inspect and, if necessary, restore to serviceable condition. Upon completion of this task, all of the components of the end item requiring repair or replacement will be identified by part number, NSN (if applicable), nomenclature, and location in the assembly. A minor repair candidate typically requires external adjustments or rework in order to meet all of the electrical specifications in accordance with the Technical Order Test Procedure and mechanical dimensions in accordance with the outline drawing. It would include repair or replacement of damaged or missing minor external parts as required. Test each end item IAW the specifications for P/N’s as listed in the contract schedule. If minor repair is initiated and it is found that, in order to return the end item to serviceable condition that the level of repair must increase to a major repair, the DCMA Government representative (ACO/PCO or QAR) will be notified and give the notice to proceed to the major repair category.
MAJOR REPAIR: (NTE) Defined as an end item that is beyond the minor repair category to the extent that the end item is to be disassembled or reconstituted. This could be due to extensive mechanical damage, extensive disassembly to access or replace subcomponents and/or replacement of major subcomponents.
