It is our intention to post updated details, when available. The Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) Acquisitions and Small Business Program will host an industry day and procurement forecast overview on Wednesday, February 12, 2025, from 10:00AM to 1:00PM, EST. The purpose of the event is to provide industry with a better understanding of the process and decision making that occurs in the procurement process. The event will include responding to industry feedback received in areas including, but not limited to Forecasts, Communication with Industry, Solicitations (SIRs), and Debriefings/Protests. It will also feature an overview of the FAA's procurement forecast including highlighting a few FAA Program Office areas. The event will be held in person at the William J Hughes Technical Center for Advanced Aerospace (WJHTC) located in Egg Harbor Township, NJ. It is the FAA's intention to make a recording of the presentations available after the event. The FAA will not be held responsible for any unforeseen technical issues that may prevent the posting of such recording. Registration is required for all participants of the event. There is no cost to attend this event. Registration closes COB January 29, 2025, or once full capacity has been reached. Registered attendees/visitors will be limited to no more than two (2) employees per business. Individuals who arrive without registering will NOT be permitted to access the facility. ACCESS TO FACILITY: Upon arrival, event attendees must stop at Gate #18 to obtain a visitor badge from security, park their car, and load a bus for transportation to drop off to Parking Lot A. Requests for Foreign National Visitors must be registered for the event and submit a request to Harry Lutz at contact@example.gov and Christine Sager at contact@example.gov no later than January 16, 2025 to be considered. BROAD AGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT - FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION ADVANCEMENT OF AVIATION RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGIES
Solicitation # BAA-693KA8-26-RCSO
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued Broad Agency Announcement BAA-693KA8-26-RCSO to solicit innovative research, commercial technologies, and prototype projects aimed at advancing National Airspace System (NAS) capabilities. This competitive solicitation is designed to engage traditional and nontraditional government contractors, as well as nonprofit research institutions, to improve NAS-related platforms, systems, components, and materials. The BAA remains active for five years and utilizes Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs) authorized under the FAA Reauthorization Act of 1996, meaning the resulting agreements are not subject to the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) or the FAA Acquisition Management System (AMS). The acquisition process is structured in three phases: the submission of a Research or Solution Brief in response to specific Areas of Interest (AOIs) posted on SAM.gov, a potential Pitch session, and a final full written proposal via a Request for Proposal (RFP). Current research interests include convective weather, cloud ceiling and visibility, and icing weather diagnostic and forecasting. Proposals are evaluated based on relevance to the AOI, technical merit, company viability, innovation, and data rights, with rough order of magnitude pricing and notional schedules serving as pass/fail gates. The period of performance for projects is generally limited to 36 months, and all submissions must remain unclassified.
