The contract will be administered by NASA Shared Services Center with performance and delivery occurring at NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland, where the components—including two housings, six three-point mounts, and two optical bases—must be delivered within eight weeks of award. The procurement is structured as a commercial item acquisition under FAR Part 12, and no competitive bidding is planned, with the sole source justification already established. The government will supply the Invar-36 material, and the work must strictly adhere to attached technical drawings that define the specifications for each part, though no formal MIL-STD or industry standard references are outlined. Responses to this sources-sought notice are limited to written submissions received via email by 3:00 p.m. Central Standard Time on May 1, 2026, with oral communications explicitly prohibited. While the contract does not include pricing details, CLINs, or formal evaluation factors due to its pre-solicitation nature, it incorporates the NASA FAR Supplement Clause 1852.215-84 on the ombudsman for contractor advocacy, and packaging, preservation, and marking requirements are not specified beyond the expectation that components will be labeled with their respective part numbers. The primary point of contact is Cody Guidry, with Kimberlynn Lancaster serving as the contracting officer.
