The Arapaho Roosevelt National Forest's Sulphur Ranger District is organizing a pre-solicitation meeting on October 30, 2017, at 9:00 AM Mountain Time, located at 9 Ten Mile Drive, Granby, Colorado. This meeting will cover the upcoming Fair Fuels Stewardship Project within the Fair IRSC area, including an on-site walk-through to clarify project details. The project, set in Township 1 North, Range 75 West in Grand County, Colorado, focuses on reducing hazardous fuels and improving forest health through restoration efforts designed to provide defensible space around private properties, decrease canopy density, reduce crown fire potential, and enhance firefighting effectiveness, especially in wildland-urban interface zones. The resulting contract will be a commercial services arrangement emphasizing timber removal, including the mechanized extraction of sawtimber and non-sawtimber materials, manual fuels modification, hand piling, and covering of slash from these efforts. This initiative aligns with the Upper Colorado Forest Health and Fuels Reduction Environmental Analysis and aims to mitigate hazard trees on federal lands adjoining private areas. Interested parties are encouraged to participate and must RSVP with contracting officer Star M. Yeo via email or phone. The solicitation is posted by the Rocky Mountain Regional Office under the Department of Agriculture.
