The United States Air Force, through the Air Force Sustainment Center at Tinker Air Force Base, is seeking qualified contractors to remanufacture the E-3 AI Gearbox Assembly, NSN 1680-01-083-2672AW and part number 5-89856-3019, a critical component that transfers motion from the pilot’s trim wheel to the control cable in the stabilizer system. The contract will be awarded as a firm-fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) with a five-year basic performance period, during which contractors are required to deliver a minimum of seven and up to sixteen remanufactured units under a delivery schedule of one unit after 90 days and one unit every 30 days thereafter. Contractors must provide all labor, facilities, equipment, and materials to completely disassemble, clean, inspect, maintain, reassemble, test, and finish each item to a like-new condition in strict compliance with applicable technical orders and work specifications. Any unit determined during inspection to be beyond repairable limits will be condemned and not counted toward production totals, and all costs incurred prior to such determination must be absorbed within the unit price. The item, constructed from stainless steel, aluminum, and bronze, measures 22.00 inches in length, 10.00 inches in width, and 10.00 inches in height, and weighs 24.00 pounds.
