AFTC/PZRB, Edwards Air Force Base, CA is seeking potential sources capable of providing Finite Element/Pipe Analysis software. REQUIREMENT: The software must meet the following requirements: - The software shall be capable of constructing PVP geometries and producing ASME stress reports. - The software shall be capable of producing typical pressure vessel and piping geometries with users familiar with SolidWorks parametric design philosophy. The program is not required to directly import SW models. - Novice users (engineers and designers) shall be capable of constructing models using one-line dimensional drawings. The software shall be capable of automatically creating the model geometry, element mesh, applied loads as specified by the engineer, and boundary conditions. - Results of the analysis shall be presented as specified by ASME requirements. Generalized stress results are optional. - The software shall be capable of supporting design analysis of nozzles, supports, flanges, and pipe. - The software shall be capable of analysis for cases not covered in ASME Section VIII (e.g., external loads on nozzles) - The software shall be capable of importing and analyzing models developed in CEASAR II - The software shall support the design of nozzles, saddles, pipe shoes and clips. Head types for analysis include elliptical, ASME, dished, spherical, conical, and cylindrical. The capability to include thermal, weight, operating, occasional, pressure, wind, and earthquake loads shall be included. Nozzle analysis shall be able to support: o Nozzles through Blind Flanges in Axisymmetric and Brick Models o Double Bed Support o Axisymmetric Horizontal Vessel with Saddles o Steady State and Transient Heat Transfer for Axisymmetric 2d Elements o Head Thickness Contours o Blind or Matching Flange End Conditions for Axisymmetric or Brick Models o Radiused Welds o Overturning Moments on Skirts (Brick Models) o Internal Ring Loads o Integral and Non-Integral Repads - The software shall be capable of modeling and analyzing the following: o Unreinforced and reinforced tees, lateral, and hillside nozzles or piping intersections o Saddle supported vessels and heat exchangers o Large diameter piping and ducting using shell elements o Piping systems using standard 6 degree of freedom (DOF) beam elements o Vessels with all geometric features including nozzles, support skirts, heads, structural clips, and stiffening rings. o Flanges with bolt loads, pressure, external loads, and thermal analysis o Tangential entry nozzles in cylindrical shells (rectangular, elliptical, and cylindrical nozzles) o Heavy wall 1 - 12 inch 6,000 to 10,000 psi cryogenic piping to -423 F - The software shall be capable of automatic accounting of load analysis for o Weight, Operating, Occasional, Thermal and Pressure o Internal or external pressure o Applied point or surface loadings o Piping loads applied to nozzles o Wind o Seismic o Fluid head - The software shall be capable of providing solutions as follows: o Element library (beam, shell, axisymmetric, & brick) o Linear elastic analysis o Material non-linear analysis (plasticity) o Dynamic/modal analysis o Dynamic harmonic analysis o Eigenvalue buckling o Steady state and transient thermal analysis o Stress stiffening (large displacement) o 2007 or later Edition of ASME Section VIII-2 Requirements for a B31.3 Code Compliant Software package. - Automatic Fatigue Damage Calculations for multiple load cases - Path dependent, convergent friction algorithm - Refractory lined pipe - Hinged expansion joints with friction - 07-02 i-factor and k-factor modeling - FEA i-factors and k-factors - Pressure fatigue - i-factors and k-factors for flat, conical, elliptical, spherical and dished heads - Ability to enter 10-SIFs for branch connections - Superelement results - Structural elements & pipe elements in same interface - Automatic FEA modeling of the actual industry variation observed in welding tees - B31.3 Eq. 1d multiple load case fatigue modeling is automatic Requirements for Support, Training, etc. - Software Support shall be provided Monday-Friday (excluding holidays) via telephone or e-mail - Training and consulting services shall be available o Training shall be available through both self-serve web modules, webinars, and scheduled group training sessions - The code shall have been demonstrated to show that it is accurate with hand calculations, flow/stress tests, or through the use of an independent analysis program not based on the same code foundation. - The software shall be supplied by a domestic (USA) supplier with all or substantially all of the code developed in the US. - A list of key current users shall be supplied Please note that this synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation for competitive bids/proposals and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government. However, all interested parties who believe they can meet the requirements are invited to submit in writing complete information describing their ability to meet all requirements stated above. Firms responding to this notice must identify their company's capabilities to perform the requirements described herein, reference the number and indicate whether or not that they are a small business concern as defined in FAR 52.219-1. The NAICS code is 511210. The Small Business size standard is $35,500,000.
