This presolicitation notice is being posted in advance of final Solicitation No. M67854-14-R-5000. Marine Corps Systems Command (MCSC) intends to procure a Field Anesthesia System (FAS) to administer general anesthesia to patients requiring emergency medical procedures in a field environment. The FAS will be included as a line item in the Authorized Medical Allowance List (AMAL) 639, Operating Room (OR) Equipment and AMAL 645 Forward Resuscitative Surgery System (FRSS). The FRSS is a highly mobile, responsive, and flexible trauma surgery platform that provides initial emergency surgery procedures as close to the point of wounding as tactically possible. The OR contains equipment and supplies to augment the FRSS; it is equipped for long term use and does not deploy unless the Marine Corps is immobile for a while. Training, reports, and other such documentation is anticipated. The forthcoming solicitation will be issued as a full and open competition and will include all instructions for offerors to follow when submitting a proposal. The solicitation will be issued as a commercial procurement under Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 guidelines. The NAICS code will be 339112.
